When should Reductil not be taken ?
Reductil may be a well tolerated weight loss prescription medication, but that is not to say that it is ideal for everyone.
Due to the difference in our individual physiology, patients using this drug may react to its use in varying ways.
Some people are more hypersensitive than others and when using this drug, such patients could exhibit a mild to severe reaction to the common side effects.
Apart from being hypersensitive to the ingredients that make up sibutramine hydrochloride, there are also patients with one or more serious health conditions that really should NOT take this medication while still suffering from such health issues.
This post seeks to inform you on some of those medical concerns that should limit your use of Reductil.
Congenital Health Issues and Reductil
When a patient suffers from a congenital health issue that they are aware of, they should avoid starting off a Reductil cycle.
Ideally it is important that all patients first and foremost are aware of their medical history including that of their immediate family members.
A parent with a history of a major medical pre-condition like coronary artery disease, may be an indicator to the fact that their offspring wishing to use Reductil could have also inherited the health condition.
Ultimately, the use of sibutramine hydrochloride should be based entirely on the merits of the assessment of the medical history of a patient by his or her doctor.
But where you are fully aware that you have any of the following medical pre-conditions, it becomes imperative that you do not take Reductil medication without your doctor’s recommendation and approval:
- Congestive heart failure,
- Arrhythmia or tachycardia,
- Genetic obesity,
- Severe eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa,
- A psychiatric health pre-condition,
- Liver and kidney health issues,
- High blood pressure,
- Tourette’s syndrome,
- Phaeochromocytoma, and
- Hyperthyroidism.
Other Medical Conditions to Consider before using Reductil
It is also NOT recommended that pregnant and lactating women begin a Reductil cycle or use any other weight loss drug for that matter.
If you are pregnant and you use Reductil, it could impact negatively on your health and that of your unborn child.
Anyone with a mental health issue like depression or an addiction to hard drugs, prescription medication and/or alcohol should NOT take sibutramine hydrochloride without a doctor’s prescription.
It is also worth noting that if you have a pre-existing bleeding disorder or haemorrhoids, you should not unilaterally administer Reductil medication without getting the green light from a qualified medical doctor after a thorough check-up.
In addition to those stated in this post, there are many other health-related problems that should prevent you from administering Reductil, it is always important that you consult with your doctor before using this prescription drug to reduce your weight.
